With this release, Geomagic Control X has been rebranded as part of the transition to Hexagon, featuring updated product logos and visuals.

3D Compare Improvements: More “Accurate” and “Comfortable”

Significant improvements have been made to the core “3D Compare” (color map evaluation) function used daily by many users, offering benefits that even beginners will appreciate.

• Automatically remove “noise” to focus on critical defects: Scan data can sometimes contain minute noise, which previously appeared as “dots” on the color map and generated automatic tags. The new “Minimum Cluster Area” setting allows you to automatically exclude regions smaller than a specified size as “noise,” preventing tags from being created. This ensures tags are only applied to critical areas, significantly reducing report editing time and improving report quality.
• Improved Color Averaging Accuracy: Previously, when evaluating selected parts, colors could bleed outside the selected area. Improvements to the calculation algorithm have resolved this issue. Colors are now accurately distributed within the selected faces, enabling more rigorous and reliable evaluation.
• Smoother and Faster Performance: Calculation and rendering performance has been improved. Wait times are reduced even when handling large datasets, allowing for a stress-free and smooth inspection workflow.



• Seamless Result Sharing: Color map results can now be exported as textured mesh files (with color information). This allows you to share visually clear results via Web viewers or other tools with stakeholders who do not have the dedicated software.

Interoperability and Usability Enhancements

• DMIS Report Support: Support has been added for exporting inspection reports in DMIS (Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard) format. This facilitates smooth data integration with other quality control systems and measurement devices, making it easier to integrate into enterprise-wide quality control workflows.



• Daily Usability Improvements: When creating geometry, pass/fail results (OK/NG colors) can now be instantly checked on the preview screen. Additionally, the scanner connection icon has been changed to a dedicated design, making the connection status easier to see at a glance, among other refined usability improvements.
